At The Acorns Primary and Nursery School, we place a lot of value on our pupils looking smart and taking pride in their appearance. Wearing the appropriate school uniform is a key part of representing our school and setting the example we would like others to see. It also supports pupils in preparing for the next phase of their education, as the uniform expectations in most secondary schools are very strict! Therefore, please ensure that your child has the uniform listed below:
White short sleeved polo shirt or navy blue with the school logo on (NOT light blue and NOT shirts)
Black, navy or grey trousers, skirts or dresses (not leggings).
In summer term, black, navy or grey shorts and blue and white checked dresses can be worn.
Blue jumper or cardigan with the school logo
Grey, black or white socks
Black sensible shoes, black trainers, or boots. These must be ALL black, which includes black soles and no coloured ticks or other symbols on them. Shops such as Sports Direct have multiple pairs of ALL black trainers available
We also realise that times are tough and therefore offer FREE Pre-Loved uniform, which can be taken from the rail in the main entrance. All of this uniform has been kindly donated and has been washed and hung, ready to be re-homed. Help us to recycle and do our bit for the planet! School also has multiple pairs of black shoes and pumps, which can be provided to those pupils who do not have appropriate footwear for school, on either a short-term or permanent basis.
PE Kits: Black shorts and a navy t-shirt. This is provided for FREE for all those families who complete a Pupil Premium Form! Trainers and a tracksuit are required from home for outdoor PE. Shorts and t-shirts are provided in a school PE kit bag and are kept in school where they are washed regularly.
Parents need to ensure that all clothing from home is clearly marked with their child's name ~ including shoes and coats!
Children are not allowed to wear jewellery in school for safety reasons, with the exception of one pair of small stud earrings.
Children should NOT have temporary tattoos or nail varnish on at school. Please save these as treats for school holidays and then ensure they have been fully removed before school starts again.
We would ask that children who have long hair wear it tied back to prevent the spread of head lice. School is unable to authorise a child to be absent with head lice.
